Ko Lanta is fortunate to have, situated against the mesmerizing backdrop of white, sandy Klong Dao Beach, a unique concept cookery school, called Time for Lime. With its’ vast, open-air kitchen, atmospheric dining area & colourful restaurant, beach bar and bungalows. Time for Lime blends ”raw & modern” Scandinavian design with elements of natural, local Thai materials. The Norwegian owner and creator; Junie Kovacs is a conept designer and life-long food enthusiast, who first came to Thailand some 18 years ago, and fell in love with the fresh tastes and imaginative dishes in Thai cuisine.
Workshops are built around hands-on preparation – you learn by doing and tasting. We emphasize on information, which offers suggestions for substitute ingredients, where to buy, how to preserve so you can cook back home and get the right taste. Yes, vegetarians are welcome, (please inform when booking.)
Since Junie’s concept is based so strongly upon the use of all five senses in the enjoyment of food, it’s no surprise to learn that every meal here is a visual feast, with students actively encouraged to experiment with creative presentation.Let your imagination fly, it’s “food art”!
